Obituary

The sky gained another star as Stella-Louise Sabados exited this worldly
life on Thursday, March 24, 2016. Stella-Louise was born on the Fourth of July, 1939, thus beginning her life as a firecracker. Her life was made up of wonderful moments including graduation from SUNY-Buffalo, being an ensign in the U.S. Navy, working and advocating for people who are unable to do so for themselves and by creating a family legacy of love, kindness, caring and strength.

Stella-Louise was a creative woman who loved to share her gifts with her friends and family. She had a green thumb which was evident in her many beautiful flower and vegatable gardens; and her handmade gifts of wood work, baskets, crocheted items and stained glass were a treasure to those who received them. She made her mark within the St. Patrick Catholic Church community as well as when she served on the Board of Directors for Valley Community Services Board. Her fierce spirit will be remembered by all of those who knew her.

Stella-Louise was preceded in death by her father Henry Schneider, her mother Laura Lonieski Schneider, and both her younger sisters, Carol Schneider Klemish and Brenda Schneider.

She is survived by her great love and ballroom dancing partner, Theodore Sabados, whose
whirlwind romance and marriage lasted over 53 years. In addition, she had three loving children: Laura Sabados, Gregory Sabados and Nancy Sabados Short and her niece who she viewed as a fourth child, Linda Klemish Marvin. Her legacy will also live on through her grandchildren: Christina Harrold and Brian Harrold; and grandnieces: Madison Marvin and MacKenzie Marvin.

Family would like to thank those who provided care when she needed it the most including Augusta Health Cancer Center and Hospice of the Shenandoah.

The family will receive visitors at Coffman Funeral Home, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton, Va. on Friday, April 1, 2016 from 5:00pm-7:00pm. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016 by Father Joseph A. D'Aurora at 2:00pm at St. Patricks Catholic Church, 219 W. Nelson St., Lexington, Va. followed by visitation at the Robert E. Lee Hotel. 30 South Main St., Lexington, Va. from 3:30pm-5:30pm. Those who know Stella-Louise realize that although she loved the beauty of flowers, she would prefer donations to Augusta Health Foundation Hospice of the Shenandoah, Post Office Box 1000, Fishersville, Va. 22939, in lieu of flowers.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton, is in charge of her arrangements.
