Stanley Earl Shackelford, 81, widower of Brenda Sue (Lawhorn) Shackelford, of Staunton, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at the Shenandoah Hospice House in Fishersville.

Mr. Shackelford was born in Rockingham County, Virginia on May 4, 1942, son of the late Earl Woodrow Shackelford and Ina Kathleen (Armentrout) Shackelford.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Shackelford was preceded in death by a brother, Gregory "Peck" Shackelford and a grandson, Joshua Shackelford.

Surviving, are two sons, Jeffrey S. Shackelford and Christopher M. Shackelford and his partner, Rich Walton; two step-sons, Douglas K. Schacht and Michael "Greg" Schacht and his wife, Christina; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 in the Augusta Stone Presbyterian Church Cemetery by Pastor Beth Jarrett.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
