IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Skylar Marshall
Harris
September 6, 1991 – May 8, 2025
Skylar Marshall Harris, 33, of Greenville, Virginia passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at her home.
She was born in Charlottesville, Virginia on September 6, 1991, the daughter of Chris Harris and Sandy (Marshall) Harris. Skylar was a miracle baby, weighing just 1 lb. 14 oz.
Affectionately known as "Scooter" to those closest to her, Skylar was a member of Pines Chapel Presbyterian Church and a graduate of Riverheads High School, Class of 2009. She was a member of the Middlebrook 4-H Club and Ride with Pride, where she nurtured her passion for horseback riding and cherished time spent at horse shows. She also enjoyed playing Buddy Ball, and one of her most memorable experiences was playing alongside President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush. Her happiest times were spent with family—whether playing in the pool, enjoying sunny days at the lake or beach, or simply sharing laughter at home. Skylar radiated joy. She had a smile that could light up any room and a laugh that was just as contagious.
Ms. Harris was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Larry "Papa" Harris; paternal great-grandparents, Claude and Gladys Harris, Ruth Fitzgerald, and Malcolm Fitzgerald; maternal grandparents, Charles "Wally" Marshall and Shirley (Doyle) Marshall; maternal great-grandparents, Charles Melvin Marshall and Sylvia Irene Marshall, Annie Floyd, and Jessie Doyle.
Surviving, in addition to her parents, is her paternal grandmother, Jean "Nana" (Fitzgerald) Harris of Greenville; aunts and uncles, Renée H. Rohrbaugh and her husband, Butch, Rodney L. Harris and his wife, Marsha, Roger L. Marshall and his wife, Jean, and Uncle "D" and his wife, Cindy Almarode; cousins, Peyton Branch and her husband, Justin, Lauren Henderson and her husband, Preston, Austin Marshall, Hannah Harris and her fiancé, Shane, Cody Harris, and Ashlyn Almarode; and her beloved caregiver, Catherine McNeal.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at their residence.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at Bethel Presbyterian Church by Pastor Derek Almarode.
