Shirley (Eaton) Wirsing, 98, widow of Robert A. Wirsing, Sr. of 39 Harper Street, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at her residence.
Mrs. Wirsing was born on May 3, 1918 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Raymond, Sr. and Helen Eaton.
Shirley was a member of the Weyers Cave United Methodist Church and
was retired from Bradley Pulverizing Company where she was employed as executive secretary. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, she was a graduate of Wyoming Valley Seminary, in Forty Fort, PA and she enjoyed working crossword puzzles.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wirsing was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Eaton, Jr.
Surviving are two sons, Robert A. Wirsing, Jr. and wife Jean of Bandon, Oregon and David E. Wirsing and wife Debbie of Lusby, Maryland; a daughter, Edythe E. Wirsing of St. Leonard, Maryland; and a half-sister, Susan Calvert of Arlington, Virginia; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren also survive.
A Memorial service will be conducted Sunday, December 18, 2016 following the 11:00 a.m. church service in the Weyers Cave United Methodist Church by Pastor Peggy Packard.
