Obituary

Shirley Anne (Quick) Crawford of 109 Mill Pond Road, Verona, VA. died Friday, April 28, 2017, in her home. She died peacefully surrounded by her daughters, grandchildren and siblings.
Shirley was born on October 29, 1935 at Quicks Mill in Augusta County, VA. She was the daughter of Jackson Eutah and Blanche (Armentrout) Quick. Shirley graduated from Radford College with a Physical Education Degree and immediately started teaching. She taught for 38 years and retired from Augusta County Schools.
Shirley was known as Granny and had an unconditional love for her family. She was a devoted and faithful member of Pleasant View Evangelical Lutheran Church. She volunteered her time in the community. She enjoyed her knitting group, Educational Sororities and spending time with her Bridge friends. She also enjoyed traveling and family beach vacations. She loved attending her grandchildrens sporting events. Shirley gave her life to Christ and those she loved. She offered her gifts without expecting anything in return and her rewards were great. She was a light in this world and every day with her was a gift. She will remain forever in our hearts and Heaven has gained an angel. Shirley is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law; Deborah (Crawford) Debbie Hastert and Dennis Hastert of Staunton, VA and Lisa (Crawford) Frazier and Scott Frazier of Glen Allen, VA; six grandchildren, Benjamin Hastert and wife Sage, Zachary Hastert and Sarah Beth Latane, Anna Frazier, Ellie Frazier, Isabel Frazier and Julia Frazier; three brothers and their wives, Jackson Quick Jr. and Connie of Pinehurst, NC, Bryan Quick and Ferral of Bridgewater, VA., Roger Quick and Linda of Ijamsville, MD.; two sisters, Barbara Perrini and husband Frank of Blacksburg, VA and Lola Heffner of Verona, with whom she resided for 20 years; a dear friend, her ex-husband, Claude Chick Crawford also survive.
A Celebration of life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Pleasant View Evangelical Lutheran Church by Pastor Mark Briehl. The family will receive friends following the service in the Church Fellowship Hall.
Burial will be private in the Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pleasant View Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2733 Springhill Road, Staunton, Virginia 24401.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
