Shirley Ann Hildebrand's Obituary

Shirley Ann (Fridley) Hildebrand, 72, wife of Herbert Frank Hildebrand of 48 Beverley Street and formerly of Craigsville, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Kings Daughters Community Health and Rehabilitation Center in Staunton.

Mrs. Hildebrand was born April 17, 1940 in Augusta Springs, a daughter of the late Ernest Hankins and Mary (McGraw) Fridley.

Shirley was a seamstress with Genesco L. Grief for thirty-five years and retired from DuPont after six years of service.

She attended the Craigsville Southern Baptist Church, was an avid bingo player and very active in helping with the Verona Food Bank. Shirley was a loving wife and not only a mother but best friend to her son Barry, a special grandmother and a very caring person to all that knew her.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by two daughters-in-law, Kathy B. Hildebrand and Gale A. Hildebrand.

Surviving in addition to her husband of fifty-eight years,are four sons, Bruce F. Hildebrand and wife Jeannette of Craigsville, Robert E. Bobby Hildebrand and wife Tanny of Churchville, Brian K. Hildebrand of Goshen and Barry W. Hildebrand and his friend Jeannie Campbell of Staunton; a daughter, Mary Patricia Pat Hamblin of Waynesboro; a brother, Cecil Fridley of Verona; a sister, Judy F. Lambert and husband Billy of Staunton; thirteen grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

A graveside service will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2013 at Oaklawn Memory Gardens by Pastor Frank S. Hall.

Active pallbearers will be Shirleys son Barry Hildebrand, Nate Hildebrand, Adam Simmons, Terry Smith, Jeannie Campbell, Todd Hinkle and Michael Hinkle.

The family will receive friends anytime at the residence.

It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
