Obituary

Shirley Ann Dumpy (Wade) Ellinger, 71, widow of Garland Glenn Nubby Ellinger of 522 Betsy Bell Road, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018 at her residence.
Mrs. Ellinger was born on November 12, 1946 in Brownsburg, a daughter of the late Francis and Ann (Breeden) Wade.
As a child, Shirley attended McElwee Chapel in Brownsburg, she worked as a waitress and cook for Harrys Lunch and prior to Harrys, she was a laborer in her husband business, Nubbys Masonry. She enjoyed fishing and playing bingo. Shirley will be remembered as a wonderful mother, friend and an excellent cook.
In addition to her husband of forty-two years and her parents, Mrs. Ellinger was preceded in death by her grandparents, great-grandparents, father-in-law and mother-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Surviving are two daughters, Rebecca Becky Ellinger, and Glenna King and her husband Jeff both of Staunton; two brothers, Jake Wade of Staunton and Jack Wade and his wife Debbie of West Augusta; a sister, Becky Sharkey of Staunton; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, January 21, 2018 in Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence.
A celebration of life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 22, 2018 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Harold W. Pete Campbell.
Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be her brothers, Jake Wade and Jack Wade, and A.J. Thompson, Drew Sterrett, Xavier Wilhelmy, and Eddie Branden.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. H. Lynn Moore and those attending the service.
It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, South Atlantic Division, 1445 East Rio Road, Suite 104, Charlottesville, Virginia 22901.
The family would like to extend a sincere Thank You to Dr. H. Lynn Moore, his staff and Tracy at the Augusta Health Foundation Hospice of the Shenandoah.
