Shirley Campbell Dingledine, 82, wife of Wayne Lee Dingledine, both of Staunton, VA, passed away Thursday July 15, 2021 surrounded by her family.
Shirley was born in Oakland, MD on May 23, 1939, a daughter of the late Anna Marie Campbell and Benjamin Henry Campbell.
Mrs. Dingledine attended Memorial Baptist Church and First Presbyterian Church, graduated from James Madison University and taught first grade students for thirty years in the Augusta County Public Schools. Shirley enjoyed gardening, traveling and, most of all, entertaining friends and family at her home.
Shirley's death was preceded by the death of a brother, Cecil Ray Campbell and a sister, Phyllis Myers.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of fifty-one years, is a son, Ed Sereno and his wife Luciana of Houston, TX; two daughters, Cristina Elkins and her husband Rick of Holly Springs, NC, and Carla Sereno of Staunton; a sister, Norma Full and her husband David of Athens, OH; a sister-in-law, Janet Campbell of Cleveland, OH; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family will have a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Memorial Baptist Church in Staunton by Pastor Mark B. Jones.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Cancer Society of America, 420 Neff Avenue, Suite 210, Harrisonburg, Virginia 22801.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
