Obituary

Shirley Lucille (Phillips) Cash, 82, widow of Rev. Don Wayne Cash of Cold Springs Road, Raphine, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at her residence.

Mrs. Cash was born in Augusta County, Virginia on October 19, 1943 a daughter of the late Lawrence Wallace Phillips and Evelyn Lucille (Brooks) Phillips Sensabaugh.

Shirley was a member of New Covenant Church where she enjoyed singing in the church choir. She loved to mow, she enjoyed doing her own yardwork, raking leaves and working with her flowers. Another love of Shirley’s was buying for others, anything you mentioned, she bought for you.

In addition to her parents and husband of fifty-eight years, she was preceded in death by a brother, Troy Phillips; a sister, Gloria Jean Allen and her husband, Kay Allen; and a sister-in-law, Gloria Jean Phillips.

Surviving is a son, David W. Cash of Stuarts Draft; a daughter, Cindy Renay (Cash) Truslow and her husband, Timmy of Greenville; two brothers, Euley Phillips and friend, Virginia, and Lenny Phillips and his wife, Linda; a sister, Marlene Phillips; a grandson, Dustin Wayne Cash and his wife, Lindsey; two great-grandchildren, Logan Cash and Marleigh Cash; and numerous nieces, nephews, close friends, neighbors and church family.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2026 in Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 14, 2026 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Theresa Moore.

Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Billy Clark, Tex Gray, Randy Harris, Jimmy Hemp, Tim McCray, Matt Moore and Tracy Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express a sincere “Thank You” to the caregivers, family and friends, and especially Lori Harvey and Judy Harris.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton, is in charge of her arrangements.
