Sherry Ann (Sharar) Pittman, 71, wife of Garry Lee Pittman of Staunton, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.

Mrs. Pittman was born in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania on August 26, 1954, a daughter of the late Joseph Irvin Sharar and Mary Arlene (Barnes) Sharar.

Sherry was a homemaker, she enjoyed baking and she loved her family dearly especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Duane Shaw.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 52 years are two daughters, Samantha L. Shaw and Kandie L. Mattox and her husband Chris both of Staunton; two sisters, Linda R. Sharar and Jodie Laughlin, both of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, Tyler Mattox (Natalle), Justin Shaw (Jamee), Austin Mattox (Kerrie), and Bradley Shaw; nine great-grandchildren, Carolina, Harper, Bentley, Bailey, Walker, Ana, Adalynn, Amelia, and Aiden; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2026 in Mt. Vernon Church of the Brethren by Pastor Dwight Roetto.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
