Shelby Jean (Gladwell) Fitzgerald, 85, widow of Zack William "Z.W." Fitzgerald, Jr. of Craigsville passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Choice Healthcare of Waynesboro.

Mrs. Fitzgerald was born in Fordwick, Virginia on April 21, 1937, a daughter of the late William Hawkins and Hettie Louise (Woods) Gladwell.

Shelby was a founding member of Joyful Sound Church in Augusta Springs.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Gertrude Virginia "Trudy" (Gladwell) Vaiksnoras.

She is survived by a son, Gregg W. Fitzgerald and his wife, Jodi and a daughter, Gwendolyn (Fitzgerald) Malcolm and her husband, Brandon, all of Craigsville; two sisters, Sally Young and her husband Preston of Seaford, VA and Deborah G. Sprouse of Fishersville; two grandchildren, Tiffany Malcolm and her fiancé, Brandon Hinkle and Jeremy Fitzgerald and husband, Brad and two great-grandchildren, Jacob Kyle and Braydon Reed.

A Graveside Service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 13, 2022 in Craigsville Community Cemetery by Pastor Michael Herring.

It is suggested, that those desiring make memorial contributions to Joyful Sound Church, 68 Joyful Sound Lane, Augusta Springs, Virginia 24411.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
