Sharon Elaine Paxton, 68, of Vinson Street, Staunton, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022 at Royal Care of Birch Ridge in Staunton.

Ms. Paxton was born in Staunton, Virginia on March 11, 1954, a daughter of the late John William Paxton, II and Alice Ellen (Young) Paxton.

Sharon was a member of Olivet Presbyterian Church. She was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School, class of 1972, and Elizabeth Brant School of Business. Sharon enjoyed her pet dogs, watching Hallmark, visiting the ocean and being around others.

Ms. Paxton is survived by her companion, Teresa G. Whitesell of Staunton; a special "sister", Pat Keys; and a number of Paxton and Young cousins.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2022 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Lee Thomas.

Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be Mark Perry, Matt Crosby, Caleb Campbell, David Whitesell, Rick Smith and Derik Harris.

The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to Debbie McQueen, Legacy Hospice, and the staff at Birch Ridge for their special care to Sharon during her illness.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
