Sharlene Sue Fowler, 86, was born into life on November 23, 1937 in Parkersburg, West Virginia and was born into her eternal life on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 in Staunton, Virginia.

Mrs. Fowler graduated from Parkersburg High school at the age of 16. She was a graduate of St Joseph's School of Nursing where she was president of the student body. She married her high school sweetheart, Don Fowler on August 24, 1957. While her husband attended W & L she was employed in the OR at Stonewall Jackson Hospital in Lexington, VA. During Don's medical school at West Virginia University, Sharlene was a charge nurse at St. Vincent Pallotti Hospital. Her last employment was with three prominent orthopedic surgeons in their offices.

Sharlene loved music and treasured singing in the Trinity Episcopal Choir for 42 years. She also sang many years with the Staunton Choral Society.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 66 years, Dr. Don Fowler; a son, Todd Fowler of Staunton; two daughters, Lynne Fowler of Florida, and Kimberly Hutchison of California; three granddaughters, Blair Halterman and her husband Abe Halterman of Grottoes, Bret Fowler and her fiancé Trent Shreckhise of Weyers Cave, Erika Breeden of Florida; two grandsons, Ryan Linden and Evan Hutchison of California; Great grandchildren: Gus Halterman and John Fowler Halterman of Grottoes, Jett Evans of North Carolina; Blair and Bret's mom, Sarah Fowler of Staunton; and grand and great-grand fur babies, Ryker, Ashe, Cinderblock, Demi, Bella and Paddington.

There will be no public service and burial will be private.
