Shannon Marcus John Taylor, 44, of Stubblefield Road Waynesboro, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024 at University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville.

He was born on June 9, 1980 in Waynesboro, Virginia a son of the late Casper Austin Taylor, Jr. and Teresa Mae (Holly) Taylor.

Shannon was a faithful member of the Church on the Hill, and the Special Olympics where he played basketball, softball and soccer. He enjoyed building and landscaping, and loved biking, golfing and collecting hats.

Surviving are his sisters, Nicole M. Taylor of Waynesboro and Corey A. Taylor-Smith and her husband, Derrick of Charlottesville; two nephews, Zyhir Smith and Imarrie Berry; and Dashaun Cathey of Harrisonburg, whom he considered a brother.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Church on the Hill, by Pastor Andrew Williams.

Burial will be private at Riverview cemetery.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
