Scherrie Marie Ramsey, 57, wife of David L. Ramsey of 2511 Dana Street, Richmond and formerly of Staunton passed away Sunday, January 31, 2016 at MCV Hospital in Richmond.
Mrs. Ramsey was born on October 17, 1958 in Staunton, a daughter of the late Wade and Ruth Emily (Wheeler) Chandler.
Prior to retiring Mrs. Ramsey was employed at the Sleep Inn in Staunton, and she enjoyed reading and was a lover of cats.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ramsey was preceded in death by a brother, David Wade Chandler and a sister, Rita Fletcher.
Surviving in addition to her husband of ten years, is a son, Douglas Wayne Strickler Ramsey of Fairfax; two brothers, Boots Price and Willie Price both of Staunton; four sisters, Thelma Davis and her husband William, Billie Price, Ann Price and Maria Price all of Staunton; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 6, 2016 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor John M. Ward.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow in Thornrose Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Doug Strickler Ramsey, Boots Price, Ronnie Poarch, Steven Davis, Madison Davis, and Travis Chandler.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
