Sarah Ruth Grogg, 82, of 14 Toma Run Lane, Goshen, Virginia, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017 in Augusta Health in Fishersville.

Miss Grogg was born on May 24, 1934 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Wilmer Donald and Jessie Thelma (Harper) Grogg.

Ruth was an active member of the Little River Church of the Brethren where she participated and helped with Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and she enjoyed working crossword puzzles.

In addition to her parents, Miss Grogg was preceded in death by three sisters, Shirley Sue (Grogg) Colvin, Elsie Pauline (Grogg) Coffman and Linda Alice (Grogg) Campbell; a brother, Donald Roy Grogg, and a brother-in-law, Raymond L. Pannell.

Surviving is a brother, Danny William Grogg and his wife Teresa of Verona; three sisters, Willie Mae Hayes and her husband Donald of Craigsville, Margie Leona Pannell and her husband William of Afton and Martha Helena Pannell of Verona; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2017 in Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.

A Celebration of life will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 26, 2017 in the Little River Church of the Brethren by Pastor Rob Via.

Burial will follow in Little River Church of the Brethren Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Nick Ryder, J.B. Graham, E.G. Pannell, J.R. Pannell, D.W. Grogg, Jr., Darrell Hayes, and Johnny Coffman.
