Sarah Lee (Fitzgerald) Propst, 79, widow of Richard Lee Propst, of 13 Forest Springs Drive, and formerly of Craigsville, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2016 in Kings Daughters Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Propst was born on July 2, 1936 in Fishersville, Virginia, a daughter of the late Robert Franklin and Jessie May (Weaver) Fitzgerald.
Sarah attended Craigsville St. Pauls Church. She was owner and operator of Lees Restaurant in Craigsville, and she enjoyed cooking, flowers, music and spending time with her children.
Surviving are five sons, Roger W. Propst and his wife Helena of Nelson County, Mitchell L. Propst, Sr. and his wife Tammy of Harrisonburg, Steven P. Propst of Staunton, Marshall K. Propst of Waynesboro and Michael D. Propst of Roanoke; three daughters, Gail P. Sprouse and her husband Jimmy of Craigsville, Sheila P. Mooneyham and her husband Bruce of Raphine and Melanie K. Easter of Roanoke; a brother, Hunter Bud Fitzgerald of Waynesboro; a sister, Connie Stone of Craigsville and a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.
The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday, February 6, 2016 in Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A Celebration of life will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 7, 2016 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Joyce Varga.
Burial will follow in Tinkling Spring Cemetery in Fishersville.
Active pallbearers will be Mark Jason Propst, Mitchell Propst, Jr., Dennis Harlow, G.L. Allen, Corbett Ratcliff and Allen Umbarger.
It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to a charity of ones choice.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
