Sara Loretta (Priest) Fitzgerald, 86, widow of Billie Richard Fitzgerald, Sr. of 701 Carann Street, Staunton passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2020 in Augusta Health in Fishersville.

Mrs. Fitzgerald was born in Lisbon, North Carolina on November 24, 1934, a daughter of the late Daniel Homer and Thelma (Melvin) Priest.

Sara was a member of the Victory Worship Center. She began her career at King's Daughters Hospital as a Radiological Technician. She advanced her career by going into Ultrasound and Nuclear Medicine and later retired from Augusta Medical Center as a Radiological Information System Coordinator after 30 plus years in the field. She enjoyed researching her family ancestry, spending time with her family, and reading her Bible.

In addition to her parents and husband of fifty-four years, Mrs. Fitzgerald was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Russell Fitzgerald; and a brother, Melvin Douglas Priest.

Surviving are two sons, Billie R. Fitzgerald, II of Staunton and Daniel J. Priest and his wife, Lisa of Clemson, South Carolina; a step-son, Richard L. Harlow and his wife, Laura of Staunton; two daughters, Sara Yvonne Fitzgerald of Beech Island, South Carolina and Joyce F. Manley of Staunton; a step-daughter, Faye F. Desper and her husband Cecil Edward Desper of Staunton; a sister, Joyce Green and her husband, Luther of Raleigh, North Carolina; twenty-three grandchildren; thirty-two great grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 3, 2020 in Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at her residence.

A Celebration of Life will conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 4, 2020 in Victory Worship Center by Pastors Ray Eppard and Terry Kent.

Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro.

Active pallbearers will be Jacob Fitzgerald, Hunter Fitzgerald, Eric Ponton, Kenneth Gray, Charles Jordan, Brooks Manley, and Chris Rye.
