Sandra Madeline "Sandy" (Stevens) Edge, 78, wife of William John "Bill" Edge, Sr. of Staunton, passed away Friday, July 5, 2024 at her residence.

Mrs. Edge was born on May 10, 1946 in London, England, a daughter of the late Harold and Hazel (Cooper) Stevens.

Sandra was an outstanding Police Officer for the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department where she retired after being injured in the line of duty. Mrs. Edge was a loving, strong, kindhearted, dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed traveling to London and taking family beach vacations. Sandy will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Joanne Stevens.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 44 years are her daughters, Deborah MacDonald (Todd) and Darlene Morgan (Mike); step-children, William John Edge, Jr., Richard Edge and Angela Edge; a brother, Brian Stevens (Denise); seven grandchildren, Samantha Schlag, Lauren Morgan, Caitlyn Morgan, Billy and Camden Edge, Gavin and Braxton; and one great-grandchild, Lucille Madeline Dawson.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. - 1 :00 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.

A Celebration of Life will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. William "Bill" Trice.

Burial will take place at Fort Lincoln Cemetery in Brentwood, Maryland.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, in Sandy's memory, to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton, is in charge of her arrangements.
