Sandra D. Peirson, 65, of Stuarts Draft, Virginia, formerly of Kennett Square, PA, passed away peacefully at Shenandoah House Hospice, on September 23, 2025, with a special cousin, Sibil Poppiti, by her side.

Sandy was born in Chester County, PA on November 1, 1959 she was the daughter of Robert D. Roop and Carleen (Miller) Witt.

In addition to her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Rivas, and son, Joseph R. "Punky" Peirson.

She is survived by a son, Eric Matthew Peirson (Stephanie) of Avondale, Uncles Elmer and June Miller, Cousins Kathy Zunino (Tom), Sibil Poppiti, Vincent Kilpatrick, Dennis Miller and Kelly Miller. She is also survived by her adored dogs, Max and Sable.

Despite losing her sight in one eye at the age of 10, from a senseless act and then at the age of 42, she lost total sight to an act of violence; she remained kind hearted to others and always with a positive attitude.

The family would like to thank Sylvia Brooks, Raven Brooks and Joncy Brooks for the care they offered to Sandy.

The family will hold a private graveside remembrance at a future date.
