Obituary

Phillip Samuel Sam Bailey, II, 75, husband of Ann S. Bailey of 627 Spruce Street passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017 in Augusta Health in Fishersville.

Mr. Bailey was born in Augusta County on January 31, 1942, a son of the late Phillip Samuel and Elizabeth Hannah (Hahn) Bailey.

Mr. Bailey attended Memorial Baptist Church, he was retired from Kroger as a night supervisor and was a member of the Travel-N-Wranglers chapter of F.C.R.V. Sam loved life at its fullest, he never met a stranger and was a joy to be with. He loved his truck, camping and Dale Earnhardt, Sr.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by a brother, William Eric Billy Bailey.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 55 years, is a daughter, Cynthia Ann (Bailey) Snead and her fianc Glenn Fitzgerald of Staunton; two grandchildren, Lauren C. Snead and Jonathan P. Snead; a sister, Betty (Bailey) Shuey of Swoope; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 9, 2017 in Memorial Baptist Church by Pastor Mark W. Jones.

The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service and other times at his residence

Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be Jon Snead, Glenn Fitzgerald, Horace Wimmer, Robert Cason, Donnie Galvin, Jeff Shuey, Meade Shuey, Hal Scott and Nate Harper.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Travel-N-Wranglers Club.

It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to Memorial Baptist Church, 224 Taylor Street, Staunton, VA 24401 or to a charity of ones choice.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
