Ruth (Norwood) Rilee, 63, wife of Lewis C. Rilee of 2148 Ridge Road passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2012 in the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.

Mrs. Rilee was born June 19, 1949 in Bedford, a daughter of the late Woodrow and Selma (Adams) Norwood.

Mrs. Rilee was a member of the Yorkminster Presbyterian Church in Yorktown where she was very active in the church and with the women of the church. She was a homemaker, loved yard work, gardening and antiquing. Ruth enjoyed blue grass music and going to Clarks Old Time Music Center in Raphine.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Norwood.

Surviving in addition to her husband of thirty-eight years, is a daughter, Rhonda R. Buracker and her husband Bryan of Forest; a son, Robert N. Rilee and his wife Cheryle of New Kent; a sister, Jeri Yeatts and her husband Mark of Williamsburg; two brothers, Steve Norwood of Gloucester and Darrin Norwood of New Kent and two grandchildren, Chris DeCoursey and his wife Amanda and Bryan S. Buracker.

A Celebration of life will be conducted 5:00 p.m. Friday, August 24, 2012 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor H. Max Bolin.

The family will receive friends following the service.

A graveside will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 25, 2012 in the Parklawn Memorial Park, 2551 North Armistead Avenue, Hampton, Virginia.

It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, Virginia 23060 or Raphine Volunteer Fire and Rescue, Post Office Box 142, Raphine, Virginia 24472.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
