Ruth Neal Lancaster - Burgess's Obituary

Ruth Neal Lancaster-Burgess
STAUNTON:

Ruth Neal (Sanders) Lancaster-Burgess, 77, of Staunton died Monday, June 11, 2012 at her residence. She was born July 4, 1934 in Gaffney, South Carolina. Mom, knowing her heavenly home awaited, wrote her own obituary:
I was privileged to be the last born child of John Thomas (Tom) and Mary Ellen Sanders. They are no longer here as they were born in the late 19th century. You cant live forever you know! Three of my brothers, Jack, Jesse and Vernon Sanders, left this earth too soon as middle aged men. One brother, Nick, lived to be seventy-eight, outliving his brothers by twenty plus years. Mary Frances Sissy Sanders, the family saint and surrogate mother to us siblings, retired from this earth in 1991. What a blessing she was. I am survived by my sister, Florence Sanders Blackwood Spencer of Gaffney, South Carolina.
My husband, John D. Lancaster, the father of my children, went ahead of me to our heavenly home in 1993. I am the mother to Jay D. Lancaster (wife Sandra) and Laura Lancaster Lembke. Grandchildren are Jennifer Lancaster, Benjamin Lancaster (wife Marlana) and Regan Lembke. My family is small but quality is high. Most importantly, they have accepted Christ as their Savior and there will be a family reunion in a place prepared by our Heavenly Father.
Did you know there is only one true God? He loved us so, He gave His only Son, Jesus Christ. For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life John 3:16. I confessed my sins, I accept Jesus as my Savior and I am saved and will spend my eternity in Heaven. You can do the same. I give Him praise and glory in all things. You should see me now, I am walking on streets of gold. Hallelujah, Hallelujah, come and hear the angels sing to my family, friends, Christian brothers and sisters!
A private Graveside service will be held Friday, June 15, 2012 for her family at Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at her home, 206 Tuxedo Road, Staunton, from 5-7pm Wednesday and Thursday, June 14, 2012 from 6-8pm at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
