Ruth J. Dedrick
STAUNTON:
Ruth Jane (Hutchens) Dedrick, 73, formerly of 125 Peyton Street passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012 in Brightview at Baldwin Park, Staunton.
Ruth was born on July 26, 1938 in Augusta County, a daughter of the late George and Virginia (Price) Hutchens.
Ruth was retired from Walmart in Staunton where she worked in the deli. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and had been a member of several circle groups for many years. Ruth formerly had been a member of the Staunton Augusta Rescue Squad Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by a sister, Minnie Morris.
Survivors include a son, Philip (Phil) Dedrick and wife Barbara of Churchville; two daughters, Debbie Bosserman and husband Steve of Staunton; Bonita Tolley and husband Lennie of Verona; a brother, Hugh Hutchens and wife Barbara of Harrisonburg; a sister, Georgia Hughes of Grottoes; four grandchildren, Matt Bosserman and wife Katie, Dustin and Corbin Dedrick and Kaitlin Tolley; a great grandchild, Tucker Bosserman, and a loving significant other for over 20 years, Branson (Puffy) Puffenberger also survive.
The family will receive friends 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2012 in Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A celebration of life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2012 in Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Matt Hann.
Burial will follow in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery Mt. Sidney, Virginia. Active pallbearers will be Matt Bosserman, Dustin Dedrick, Corbin Dedrick, Lennie Tolley, Steve Bosserman and Jeff Carpenter.
It is suggested that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimers Association, 1160 Pepsi Place, Suite 306, Charlottesville, Virginia 22901.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
