Ruth Rebecca (Collins) Booth, 94, widow of Carl Lakeford "Lake" Booth of Staunton, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.
Mrs. Booth was born in Staunton, Virginia on February 2, 1927, a daughter of the late Harry and Ada (Hanger) Collins.
Ruth was co-owner of Crafton's Park and a faithful volunteer throughout the community. She enjoyed family time and get-togethers and especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ruth enjoyed laughing, dancing, having a good time, and never met a stranger.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Booth was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, and a son-in-law, Bob Swanson.
Mrs. Booth was the last member of her immediate family.
Surviving is a son, Daniel "C.L." Booth (Cindy); three daughters, Vickie F. Swanson, Rebecca "Becky" Cook, and Melissa "Missy" Booth; six grandchildren, Zachary Hendrix (Becky), Magen Hendrix, Sparkle Derr, Jeremy Cook (Kristen), Jason Cook (Joy), and Hillary Reynolds (Dustin); seven great-grandchildren, Dylan, Reese, Lexia, Layton, Emma, Gunner, and Saylor; a number of nieces and nephews; and a special lifetime friend, Ann Harris.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, May 9, 2021 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A celebration of life will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 10, 2021 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Denny Sites.
Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Jeff Garza, Jeff Dietz, Mark Vigilone, Mark Harris, Jeremy Cook, and Jason Cook.
