Russell Dale "Rusty" Simmons, 44, husband of Andreea Simmons, of 613 C Street, passed away Friday, June 15, 2018 at his residence.

Mr. Simmons was born on November 20, 1973 in Charlottesville, Virginia, a son of Marvin E. Simmons and Diana Briske.

Rusty was employed by the Wayne Theater in Waynesboro as an Entertainment Technical Director. Previously he had worked as an Entertainment Technical Director for the Carnival and the Norwegian Cruise Lines and the Wild Adventure Theme Park in Valdosta, Georgia. He also did contract work for Scholastic and Nickelodeon. He was a talented photographer and had a very creative mind. Rusty had a big heart, was known for his sense of humor, and loved to make people laugh. He was dedicated to his family.

Surviving in addition to his wife of Staunton is his mother and step father, Ron Briske of Churchville; and a daughter, Alexandra "Alex" Simmons of Staunton.

A Celebration of Life Picnic will be held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018 at the Briske home, 3800 Churchville Avenue, Churchville.

Friends may visit the family, at the Briske home, at any time.
