Ruby Jane (Ruebush) Hutchens, 95, widow of Robert Raymond Hutchens, Sr., of Waynesboro, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025 at Kings Daughters Health and Rehabilitation in Staunton.

Mrs. Hutchens was born in Augusta County, Virginia on June 27, 1930, a daughter of the late Clarence Crowell Ruebush, Sr. and Anna Grace (Brockway) Ruebush.

Ruby was a member of Mount Pisgah Church and was a 1950 graduate of Wilson High School. She retired from Western State Hospital in 1993, where she served as a payroll clerk for 44 years. In her spare time, Ruby enjoyed being outdoors, especially working in her yard, and going for rides.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hutchens was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene R. Ruebush and Clarence C. Ruebush, Jr.

Surviving, are two sons, Robert R. "Bobby" Hutchens and his wife, Sherry and Jeffrey L. "Jeff" Hutchens and his significant other, Kimberly, all of Waynesboro; a step-daughter, Barbara Masincup (Dec. Charles) of Staunton; a sister, Nancy Loan of Staunton; four granddaughters, Stephanie, Michelle, Jenny, and Kristina; and a great-granddaughter, Ella Grace.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2025 in the Pleasant View Cemetery by Reverend William "Bill" Trice.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
