Ruby Ann (Moyers) Cox, 97, widow of Benjamin Henry Cox formerly of Morris Mill Road, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2017 in Royal Care of Staunton.
Mrs. Cox was born on May 28, 1920 in Lone Fountain, a daughter of the late James Lester and Lillie Mae (Miller) Moyers.
Ruby was a proud member of the Churchville High School graduating class of 1939. She was a member of Jerusalem Chapel United Brethren Church, she was a homemaker, and previously worked in the office of Tommies Pajama Factory and Leggetts Department Store. She was a member of the Churchville Home Demonstration Club, she enjoyed reading, crocheting and mowing with her riding mower.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, J. Kenneth Buddy Moyers.
Surviving is a daughter, Tamme C. Flory and her husband Roger of Swoope; two brothers, Eugene M. Moyers of Staunton and Donald E. Donnie Moyers and his wife Frances of Swoope; a sister, Archie M. Forsythe of Staunton; a sister-in-law, Mary W. (Moyers) Sutton of Staunton; two grandchildren, Benjamin Flory and Alayna C. Flory and her fianc Hunter Sensabaugh; and special friends, Keith Morris and Shirley Marshall also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2017 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2017 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Dave Dakin.
Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery in Churchville.
Active pallbearers will be Steve Forsythe, Marc Moyers, Ben Flory, Hunter Sensabaugh, Elliot Wandless, Tyler Wandless, and Ethan Wandless.
The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the nursing staff at Royal Care for the care given to Mrs. Cox.
