Ruby Laura (Stanley) Jordan, 84, widow of Jasper P. Jordan of 48 Sunny Lane passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2010 in the Shenandoah Hospice House in Fishersville.
Mrs. Jordan was born March 1, 1926 in Amherst County, a daughter of the late James Wine and Etta (Brown) Stanley.
Ruby was a member of Marsh Memorial United Methodist Church in Lynchburg; she enjoyed traveling, camping and fishing. Her hobbies were crocheting and quilting. Prior to retiring in 2006 from Neuman Aluminum / Impact Division, Mrs. Jordan was employed by Paktron Division at I.T.W. in Lynchburg.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ruby was preceded in death by
a brother, Jack W. Stanley.
Survivors include a daughter, Ruby J. Callahan of Stuarts Draft; a brother William Stanley of Lynchburg; four grandchildren, Shawn P. Callahan and his wife Marla, Robin C. Hailey and her husband Eddie, Hope C. Neese and her husband Jason and Sunny C. Martin and her husband Michael; nine great-grandchildren, Shawna and Nicholas Callahan, Rachele Engle, Junior Hailey, Trey, Jordie and Joshua Hemp and Chance and Payton Martin and two great-great grandchildren, Karissa Hemp and Eli Martin also survive.
A celebration of life will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2010 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Rick Hanley.
The family will receive friends following the service.
The family will also receive friends on Friday evening from 7 to 9:00 p.m., April 30, 2010 in Tree of Life Ministries, 2812 Greenview Drive, Lynchburg, Virginia.
A Graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 1, 2010 in Fort Hill Memorial Park, 5196 Fort Ave., Lynchburg, Virginia by Rev. Mike Dodson.
Active pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
