Ruby Dell Ellinger's Obituary
Ruby Dell (Lucas) Ellinger, 85, widow of Casper Harris Ellinger, Jr. of 702 Carann Street passed away Sunday, May 8, 2016 at her residence.
Mrs. Ellinger was born on July 17, 1930 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Howard Peter and Gladys Lois (Swisher) Lucas.
Ruby was a member of St. Johns Reformed Church and she was very active within the church. She was a homemaker and a wonderful wife, mother and friend.
In addition to her husband of thirty-three years and her parents, Mrs. Ellinger was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Virginia Lee Heizer and her husband Robert.
Surviving is a daughter, Lois Catherine Ellinger; a brother-in-law, Richard P. Ellinger and his wife Ann of Staunton; two sisters-in-law, Doris Heizer and her husband Lynn of Staunton and Elizabeth Spitler of Swoope; and a number of nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2016 in St. Johns Reformed Church by Pastor Dennis Russell.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the St. Johns Reformed Church, c/o Treasurer, 1515 Arbor Hill Road, Staunton, Virginia 24401.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
