Ronald Lee Staton, Sr., 69, husband of Linda (Brown) Staton, went to be with the Lord, with his loving family by his side, Saturday, December 12, 2015 at his residence.
Mr. Staton was born on May 25, 1946 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late Gill Loving and Effie (Coleman) Staton. Ronald was a member of Fishersville United Methodist Church, he was retired from E.I. Dupont in manufacturing as an electrician.
Mr. Staton loved each and every one of his family members, he enjoyed bear hunting in New York and West Virginia, trout fishing and traveling to Montibello to visit the family camp. Mr. Staton was a good true southern gentleman with a giving heart and will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his parents Ronald is preceded in death by a sister, Virginia and three brothers, Ralph, Henry and Roosevelt.
Surviving in addition to his wife, the true love of his life of 32 years is a son, Ronald R.L. Staton, Jr. and his wife Donna of Waynesboro; two daughters, Kristen Elliott and her husband Austin of Strasburg and Cindy Lavender of Fishersville; four brothers, Bobby, Charles, Larry and Lloyd; three sisters, Shirley, Barbara and Priscilla; seven grandchildren, Brittney, Gage, Hannah, Garrett, Marlee, Maddy and Colton; a great-grandchild Lucas and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Burial will be private in Augusta Memorial Park.
A Memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2015 in the Fishersville United Methodist Church by Pastor Ryan Oswald and Pastor Charles Bates.
The family will receive friends following the service.
