Ronald Dean "Ron" Hite, 73, husband of Julie (Simantel) Hite, of Ivey Lane, Staunton, passed away on Monday, January 3, 2022 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, due to complications from treatment of Myasthenia Gravis.

Mr. Hite was born in Waynesboro, Virginia on June 5, 1948, a son of the late Dallas Wilson Hite and Freda (Wolfe) Hite.

Mr. Hite was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War. Ron retired in 2015 from Augusta Health after serving 40 years as an EMT in the Emergency Room and was a life member of the Staunton-Augusta Rescue Squad. He enjoyed camping, traveling to the beach, NASCAR and vacationing with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Hite was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald W. Hite.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of 26 years, is a daughter, Sherry M. Hite of Staunton; a step-son, Shane Thomas and his wife Heather of Austin, Texas; three brothers, James W. Hite and his wife Betty of Staunton, Robert J. Hite and his wife Carolyn of Mint Spring, and Donald W. Hite of Verona; and a sister, Janette H. Spencer of Verona.

A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 6, 2022 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Reverend William "Bill" Trice.

The family will receive friends following the service.

The family requests that masks or face coverings be worn.
