Ronald Eugene Ron Chandler, 55, of 1009 Edison Creek Road, passed away Friday, May 14, 2010 in the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville.
Mr. Chandler was born November 20, 1954 in Staunton, a son of the late Hugh Chandler and Mary Edith (Milstead) Chandler.
Ron was employed since 2004 with Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, where he taught mechanical engineering. He enjoyed hunting, wood working and was especially talented in building projects of all kinds.
In addition to his mother of Swoope, survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jerred B. Chandler and his wife Ashley P. of Wise, VA and Tracy H. Chandler of Radford; two brothers, Gary M. Chandler of Swoope and Nolen Butch Chandler of Staunton; two granddaughters, Madison E. and Emma K. Chandler; his fiance Julie A. Thomas and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 to 8:00 p.m. in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
Funeral services and burial will be private.
