Roger Paul Wilfong, Sr., 62, husband of Linda Darlene (Smith) Wilfong of 18 Union Hall School Lane, Swoope passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at his residence.

Mr. Wilfong was born in Bridgewater on April 6, 1951, a son of the late Lawrence Malcolm and Charlotte Opal (White) Wilfong.

Roger was a member of the Elk Run Church of the Brethren and was employed with VDOT with thirty-seven years of service as a Supervisor. He enjoyed hunting, helping others and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Wilfong was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Buck Wilfong and two sisters,

Carolyn W. Maxwell and Donna W. Jenkins.

Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Roger P. Wilfong, Jr. of Churchville; three step-sons, Philip W. Truxell and wife Regina of Staunton; Shad E. Varner and Shawn E. Varner and wife Tonya all of Churchville; a step-daughter, Melisa D. Varner of Staunton; five nieces; one nephew; and his pet dog Fuzzy.

All services are private.
