Roger Lee Shuey, Sr.'s Obituary

Roger Lee Shuey, Sr., 71, husband of Helen Lee Shuey, of 36 Bingham Street, passed away Monday evening, November 3, 2014, at his residence.
Mr. Shuey was born September 17, 1943 in Staunton, a son of the late William Hallie and Nellie Madaline (Shifflett) Shuey.
Roger retired from Moores Building Supply (Pro-Build) after 30 years of service. He enjoyed camping and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Shuey was preceded in death by four brothers, Cecil E. Shuey, Donnie L. Shuey, William Shuey and Merle Shuey; and two sisters, Gertrude M. Shull and Hallie M. Agnor.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 51 years, Helen, Mr. Shuey is survived by a sister, Dorothy Ann Wallace and her husband Boyd of Waynesboro; two sons, Roger Lee Shuey Jr. and his wife Alesia and Curtis Wayne Shuey and his wife Donna; a daughter Linda Darlene Burns and her husband Mike all of Verona; three adopted sons Bryan David Shuey, Derek Wayne Shuey of Verona and Peter James Shuey of Colorado; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Mr. Shuey and his wife raised over 100 foster children.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 6, 2014, in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A Celebration of life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 7, 2014, in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastors Golden Clark and William Morgan.
Burial will following Oak Lawn Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Kenny Hartman, Ronnie Cox, David Huffer, Al Mace, R.W. Rohrer, Tim Shuey, Travis Shuey, and Billy Burns.
It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454 Alexandria, VA 22312.
