Roger Lewis Buchanan, 71, of Middlebrook passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at the home of his son and caregiver in Staunton.
Mr. Buchanan was born June 14, 1944 in Middlebrook, a son of the
late Lewis Lee and Mary Bell (Reed) Buchanan.
Roger attended Harvest Time Assembly of God and retired in 2003 from McQuay International with over twenty-five years of service. Mr. Buchanan was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving his country during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Buchanan was preceded in death by a brother, William R. Buchanan.
Surviving is a son, Chris E. Buchanan and his wife Sharon of Staunton; a daughter, Wende B. Harris and her husband Ronnie, Sr. of Stuarts Draft;
the mother of his children, Leslie (Sparhawk) Buchanan of Staunton; a brother, Kenneth Buchanan of Oregon; two sisters, Shirley Law and Frances Snow and her husband Harold all of Staunton; two step-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren also survive.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, September 6, 2015 in Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A Graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 7, 2015 in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery by Chaplain Murphy Terry.
Active pallbearers will be Kevin Harris, Ronnie Harris, Jr. Jerry Smith and Donnie Strickler.
