Obituary

On the afternoon of Sept. 5, 2022, Roger Boles entered Heaven's gate to sit at his Savior's feet for worship and thanksgiving.  He was born Nov. 8, 1961 to his loving parents, Horace and Dorothy Boles who were so happy to add him to their three sweet daughters.  He grew up in Shreveport, LA where he enjoyed a happy childhood as the only son with five sisters when the family was complete.  He enjoyed spending time in the woods hunting or on the lake fishing with his dad and uncles and cousins.  He also enjoyed riding dirt bikes and later motor cycles, teasing his sisters (like jumping out of the closet to scare them) and learning to work on all sorts of engines with his dad.

Just before Roger graduated high school, he attended Calvary Baptist Church in Shreveport where he learned about the Lord Jesus and how He died on the cross to save him from his sins.  Roger accepted Christ as his Savior which changed the focus of his life.  Roger attended and graduated from Tennessee Temple University where he met his wife Pam and began their 41 year journey together.  Roger was blessed with 3 awesome sons, Stephen (wife Emily and children, Eli, Zoe, and Wyatt), John (wife Katie and son Justus) and Ethan (wife Jena and children Noah, Gabriel, Luke, Dan, and Selah)

Roger's career started at Top Flight Paper Company in Chattanooga and then changed to "the dialysis world' as he called it.  He worked for almost 25 years from a reuse tech to regional vice president with several dialysis companies in TN, PA, SC, MD and VA.  Roger always had a desire to own his own business and when he learned about Home Instead Senior Care, he thought, "what a great idea, keeping seniors at home, why didn't I think of that?"   So, for the last 12 years he has made it his mission to "enhance the lives of aging adults and their families". Roger served our community on several boards, and the Rotary Clubs in Waynesboro and Staunton.  He also enjoyed golfing with his buddies every chance he got.  But his favorite place to serve others was greeting people who came to worship at Staunton Alliance Church and making them feel welcome.

Roger is survived by his wife and sons, his dad, Horace Boles, 5 sisters, Barbara, Regina, Tammy, Wanda, and Janet and their families in from LA, AK, MS and TX.  They are all very dear to him.  Roger is preceded in death by his dear mom, Dorothy Boles, his brother in law, Rodney Allen, and his nephews, David and Doug.  Roger loved his family and loved spending time with them and finding the humor in all sorts of situations. What really made Roger happy was seeing people around him smile and enjoy life.

Roger's family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00p – 8:00p at Staunton Alliance Church (560 New Hope Rd.  Staunton, VA) a celebration of life service will take place Saturday at 1:00p at Staunton Alliance Church with Rev. Paige Adams officiating.  Burial will be private.
