Robert Bobby Edward Taylor, Jr., 60, husband of Guadalupe Lupe (Vasquez) Taylor of 108 Miller Street, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2009 at his residence.
Bobby was born in Staunton, Virginia on September 29, 1948, a son of the late Robert Edward, Sr. and Lois Christine (Warren) Taylor.
Prior to retiring in December of 2000, Bobby was employed by Lawrence Transportation as a Dispatcher with over 25 years of service. He enjoyed working on automobiles for his family and many friends and he had a love for fishing.
In addition to his wife to whom he married on June 7, 1970 he is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law; Robert Lee Bobby Lee Taylor and his wife Tami, Danny Myers and Roy M. Mike Buchanan all of Staunton; a brother and sister-in-law, Perry Michael Taylor and his wife Carolyn of Grottoes; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Linda M. Thompson and her husband Charlie Dawson of Waynesboro and Katherine T. Kathy Reed and her fianc Brian Welcher of Stuarts Draft; three grandchildren, Nicole Marie Taylor, Clayton Lee Taylor and Bryan Ray Strawderman. Also surviving is an Aunt, Dorothy Bailey; three nephews, Eddie Thompson, Jr., Michael and Travis Taylor; a niece, Christine Allison; two great-nephews, Carl Thompson and Cameron Allison and numerous cousins also survive.
A funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, (July 8, 2009) in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jeff Griffith.
Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Ronald Hiner, Carl Terry, Billy Stone, Bailey Jackson, Jr., Danny Hartman, Jeff Critzer and Scott Miles.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home or at other times the residence of his son and daughter-in-law, Bobby Lee and Tami Taylor, 608 Cherry Hill Drive, Staunton.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
