Robert Eli Sunderlin, 86, husband of Jewell Sunderlin, of 176 Hotchkiss Road, passed away Sunday, January 05, 2014, at his residence.
Mr. Sunderlin was born October 9, 1927, in Rio, WVA, a son of the late Robert Merwin and Virginia Ann (Evans) Sunderlin.
Eli was a member of Christian Fellowship Baptist Church; he was a Veteran of the United States Army during World War II and retired in 1983 with 30 years of service as a truck driver for Smiths Transfer. Mr. Sunderlin was a member of Teamsters Local #29; he enjoyed watching the news, and westerns such as Gunsmoke, he enjoyed camping at Stoney Creek Resort, and traveling with his wife.
Eli was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
In addition to his wife of 32 years, Mr. Sunderlin is survived by two sons, Robert Daniel Sunderlin of McDonald, PA and John Carson Sunderlin of Moundsville, WVA; a daughter, Debra Lee Radovich of Pittsburg, PA; one step daughter, Debra Kinser of Ceredo, WVA; three step sons, Roger Lyons of Huntington, WVA, Randall Lyons of South Point, Ohio and Paul David Lyons of Churchville; and four grandchildren, three great- grandchildren and ten step-grandchildren.
A Graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 9, 2014 in Oaklawn Memory Gardens by Pastor John W. Ward.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
