Robert Jeremy Johnson, 43, of 5138 Cold Springs Road, passed away Friday, February 17, 2017 at his residence.
Mr. Johnson was born on April 27, 1973 in Fort Payne, Alabama, a son of Robert Earl Johnson and Brenda Jean (Thornberry) Lakin.
Jeremy was a metal worker for The Gas House, Inc., played football and baseball for Riverheads, and he enjoyed all sports and NASCAR.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Billy and Edith Johnson and Olga B. Thornberry.
Surviving in addition to his parents, is a son, Justin Brant Johnson of Rainsville, Alabama; a brother, Benji Johnson and his wife Tammy of Staunton; a sister, Kerri Arehart and her husband Scott of Greenville; nieces and nephews, Christa Arehart, Copper Arehart, Kayleigh Johnson and Benjamin Johnson also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2017 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence.
A Celebration of life will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Faith Baptist Church by Pastor Eric Brown.
Burial will follow in the Old Providence Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Jay Painter, Will Painter, Jonathan Graham, Eric Johnson, Andrew Phillips, and Glenn Hughs.
Honorary pallbearers will be Benjamin Johnson, Copper Arehart, Kelby Graham, Matthew Johnson, Nathan Johnson, and Scott Arehart.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton, is in charge of his arrangements.
