Robert Junior Floyd, 77, husband of Barbara Ann (Ryder) Floyd of Verona went to be with the Lord Saturday, May 5, 2012 at University of Virginia.
Mr. Floyd was born June 16, 1934 in Buena Vista, a son of the late Robert Henry and Luetta (Pultz) Floyd.
Mr. Floyd was a member of Church on the Hill, Fishersville. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. Robert will be missed beyond words by his family and those who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Floyd was preceded in death by three brothers Buddy, Tommy and Tony Floyd.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-six years, three sons, Timothy W. Floyd and wife Kathy of Crimora; Robert J. Floyd II and wife Kathy of Staunton; Stephen E. Floyd and wife Robin of Chesterfield; a daughter Dana (Floyd) Wade and husband Mark of New Hope; eight grandchildren Travis Floyd of Crimora; Kelly (Floyd) Curry and husband Bradley of Weyers Cave; Valerie (Floyd) Wampler and husband Adam of Harrisonburg; Lauren Floyd of Barren Ridge; Zachary and Jacob Floyd of Chesterfield; Michael and Eric Wade of New Hope; a great granddaughter Ava Lynne Wampler of Harrisonburg; three sisters Florence Humphrey, Josephine Wimer and Mary Smith.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Church on the Hill in Fishersville by Pastors Brandon Williams and Greg Miller.
Graveside Rites will be private.
Active pallbearers will be Timothy, Travis, Robert II, Stephen, Zachary Floyd, Mark and Michael Wade.
Honorary pallbearers are Eric Wade and Jacob Floyd.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 7, 2012 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
