Robert Eugene “Bob” Harper, 94, of Fishersville, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Mr. Harper was born in Waynesboro, Virginia on September 5, 1931, a son of the late George Earl Harper and Lena Mae (Rexrode) Harper.
Bob retired from Genicom after many years as a production clerk and manager. He was a member of Fishersville United Methodist Church and a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean War.
Mr. Harper was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Lina Ann (Robertson) Harper, on May 25, 2026. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Leo Harper and Leslie Harper and his wife, Caroline; and two brothers-in-law, William Humphreys and Donald Brown.
Surviving, is a son, Phillip N. Harper of Barren Ridge; a daughter, Stacey Ann (Harper) Hayes and her husband, Darrell of Staunton; two sisters, Kathryn Humphreys of Stuarts Draft and Mary June Brown of Staunton; cousins, Jim and Mary Furr, Helen Gaiewski, and Sara Frances Snelson; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, 2026 in the Fishersville United Methodist Church Cemetery by Pastor Gene Williams.
It is suggested that those desiring make memorial contributions to Mr. Harper’s special interest, the family cemetery, located in Franklin, West Virginia. Checks made payable to “Rexrode Family Cemetery”, c/o Stacey Hayes, Treasurer, 44 Loch Drive, Staunton, VA 24401.
The family would like to express a sincere “Thank You” to the many healthcare providers who showed kind, compassionate care and support in these past few years, months, and recent weeks. These individuals include Dr. Joseph Ranzini and the Wound Clinic Staff; Pam Coakley and Tanya Landrum, Bayada Home Healthcare nurses; all of the wonderful staff at English Meadows; AH 3 East nursing and Matthew Meade, M.D.; AH first floor nursing staff; and Hospice of the Shenandoah.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
