Robert Dale Dick Armstrong, 72, husband of Virginia (Puffenbarger) Armstrong went to his heavenly home on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Augusta Medical in Fishersville.

Mr. Armstrong was born on November 5, 1940 in Moyers, WV, a son of the late Lynn S. and Martha (Hoover) Armstrong.

Dick was a truck driver for Smiths Transfer with twenty-five years of service.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Armstrong was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Armstrong.

Surviving is his beloved wife of fifty-one years, and a special daughter and her husband, Teresa A. Morris and husband Durwood of Swoope; a very special granddaughter, Mattie Lynn Morris; two brothers, Delbert Armstrong and wife Doris and James Armstrong and wife Patsy all of McDowell; two sisters Jean Eckard of Sugar Grove, WV and Nancy Hatcher of Churchville; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 21, 2013 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Denny Sites.

Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the residence of Mr. Armstrongs daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Durwood Morris, 2530 Parkersburg Turnpike, Swoope.

Active pallbearers will be Jed Shaner, Jack Clem, Jesse Eckard, Robert Coffey, Brad Armstrong, Pete McCray and Carl Vandevander, Jr.

It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
