Rita L. Sellers

Rita Ray (Lawhorn) Sellers, 72, widow of Robert L. Bob Sellers, Jr. of 327 Grubert Avenue, Staunton, passed away Monday, May 23, 2011 at her residence.
Mrs. Sellers was born August 1, 1938 in Augusta Springs, VA, a daughter of the late Haze Herman and Ethel Lucille (Gregory) Lawhorn.
Rita served in the United States Air Force and was a member of Augusta Springs Presbyterian Church. She was employed as a Clerk with Smiths Transfer for twenty-two years and enjoyed working in the family business at the Coalter Street 7-11 for fifteen years where she made many wonderful friends. Rita enjoyed H/G TV, puzzles and collecting Barbie dolls.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Sellers was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Patty L. Woods.
Survivors include a son, Robert L. Sellers, III and his wife Melanie of Johnson City, TN; a daughter, Ann Marie Annie Sellers of Staunton; a sister, Shirley L. Wimer of Buffalo Gap, VA; two grandchildren, Braeden Donavan Cade Sellers and Holden Riley Kincade Sellers; a nephew, Curtis Wimer and his companion Anita; a special friend and caregiver, Robin Britt; grand dog ChiChi and her extended Sellers Family also survives.
A Graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro by Pastor Michael Herring.
The family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening, May 25, 2011, at Coffman Funeral Home and other times at her residence.
It is suggested that memorial contributions be made to the Staunton Fire Department Station # 2, 302 Grubert Avenue, Staunton, VA 24401.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
