Richard Spencer Young, 64, of 145 Countryside Lane, passed away Friday, October 11, 2013.

Mr. Young was born January 8, 1949, in Wilmington, NC, a son of the late Herbert Spencer and Lillie Mae (Gaither) Young.

Richard was a veteran of the United States Air Force, he was retired from WalMart in Waynesboro; he enjoyed cooking, barbecuing, shopping, traveling and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Young was preceded in death by a daughter Michelle Ann Young, a brother William Bill Young and a sister Janet Page Young.

Survivors include his best friend and mother of his children, Deborah Young of Goshen; two daughters Jennifer Conner and husband Jason of Raphine, and Jaclyn Tjaden and husband Matthew of Manassas Park; a sister Barbara Ann Gabay of Fincastle; and three grandchildren, Julia Conner, Lily Ann Tjaden and Jessica Conner.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 19, 2013 at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Jason Conner, 64 Countryside Lane, Raphine by Pastor Don Cash.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
