Richard Wayne "Popsicle" Armstrong, 71, of Eastern Avenue, Woodsfield, Ohio passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at his residence.

Mr. Armstrong was born on November 30, 1946 in Lone Fountain, a son of the late Joseph Roscoe, Sr. and Louise (Mongold) Armstrong.

Richard was a veteran of the United States Navy, a member of the VFW Post #5303 in Woodsfield, Ohio, and by trade he was a welder / boiler maker. He enjoyed Blue Grass music and raising cats.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Armstrong was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Lee Armstrong.

Surviving is a daughter, Amy Louise Armstrong of Verona; former wife and mother of his children, Joan Armstrong-VanName of Greenville; three grandchildren, Joseph Nedrow, Sarah Roudabush and Hannah Roudabush; two great-grandchildren, Kelsey Nedrow and Colton Miller; two brothers, Thomas L. "Tom" Armstrong of Staunton and Joseph R. Armstrong, Jr. of Lone Fountain; two nephews, Gregory Scott Armstrong and Lance Armstrong; and two great-nephews, Austin Armstrong and Josef Armstrong.

A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 7, 2018 in the Oaklawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens by Pastor Harold W. "Pete" Campbell.

The family will receive friends following the service.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton, is in charge of his arrangements.
