Richard Matthew "Matt" Hemp, 45, husband of Jamie Hemp of Staunton passed away Friday, October 15, 2021 at his residence.
Mr. Hemp was born in Augusta County, Virginia on November 22, 1975, a son of David Hemp and the late Sherrill Jean (Shull) Hemp Stevens.
He enjoyed watching NASCAR, was an avid football fan, but family was most important to him. Matt was always kind and generous to all and had a fantastic sense of humor. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Surviving in addition to his wife of nineteen years, are his children, Aleisha Harris and her husband Dakota, Savannah Hemp, and Tyler Hemp; and a grandson, Jason Harris.
A Memorial service will be held 6:00 p.m. Friday, October 22, 2021 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
