Richard Jacob Klotz, 59, born April 29, 1963, passed away from this life on January 30, 2023 after a brief stay at Augusta Health in Fishersville.

Richard was a congenial fellow that had friends from all walks of life. You could always count on him to tell it to you straight. He had a strong work ethic and was a respected 25 year veteran of Carter. Richard joined Carter Cat in 1998 as a construction equipment technician before moving into Electric Power Generation as a field service technician in 2009.

Mr. Klotz was preceded in death by his mother and father, Pearl Virginia (Keller) Klotz and Milton Stuart Klotz.

Surviving, are two sisters, Julie (Klotz) Leatherbury and Karen Klotz; a nephew, Jacob Leatherbury and his wife, Natalie; two nieces, Brooke Leatherbury and Kelsey (Klotz) Swecker and her husband, Jacob; a great-nephew, Richard Holden Leatherbury; and three great-nieces, Helen Elizabeth Leatherbury, Madison Jane Swecker, and Mia Moore Swecker;

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.

Funeral services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Richard's memory to the Staunton-Augusta Regional SPCA, P.O. Box 2014, Staunton, Virginia 24402.
