Richard C. Coyner, 85, of Stuarts Draft, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026 at his home.

Mr. Coyner was born in Augusta County, on March 2, 1941, the son of the late Ralph and Margaret Coyner and foster son of Elmer and Effie Chandler.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Janet Foley Coyner. They were married on August 19, 1961. Also surviving are two children, Richard (Gail) Coyner and Roxanne (Scott) Harris; four grandchildren, Ashleigh (Daniel) Salatin, Travis Coyner, Paige (Andrew) Heizer and Renee (Chris) Nelson; seven great-grandchildren, Addisyn Simmons, Harrison Heizer, Lydia Nelson, Lyla Heizer, Travis Salatin, Andrew Salatin and Lauryn Salatin. He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Matchett and is survived by a sister, Nancy Beyeler. He also leaves behind a dear sister-in-law, Debbie Prater and her husband, Ralph; and a dear friend of the family, Michael Baumann.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2026 at Memorial Baptist Church by Pastor Jonathan Prater. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Burial will follow in White Hill Church of the Brethren Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be John Moore, Michael Baumann, Neal Willetts, David Matchett, Curtis Beyeler, and Charlie Prater.
