Richard Dale Brown, 83, of Staunton, Virginia, passed from this life on Monday, January 29, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Mildred (Cook) Brown for 58 years.

Born on July 28, 1940, in Niles, Ohio, he was the son of the late Frank Dale Brown and Mildred (Hobbs) Brown.

Richard was a geophysicist and car enthusiast, RC plane flyer, and bluegrass listener. As Alzheimer's took away his interests, he still loved a good meal and a gin and tonic. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Andrew Dale Brown, and his wife, Emily and grandchildren, Max and Vivien of SC; daughter, Melissa Kulm, and her husband, Steve, and granddaughter, Elena of VA; and several nieces and nephews in OH.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Judith Washburn and Carol Roberts.

Services and interment will be private.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
